Colonel Lin rubbed his temple in irritation hearing the woman’s complaints.

Was she really Sergeant Ge’s mother? Denouncing her own son in front of his superiors and branding him an unfilial child, Colonel Lin could not believe his ears.

If she cannot get it, neither will any of you!” Hatred emerged in Segeant Ge’s eyes, but just as swiftly, he returned to his icy cold disposition.

Exhausted at dealing with his family members, Sergeant Ge turned toward Lu Xingzhi and said, “Captain, I know you have always wanted to promote me.
I am sorry for letting you down this time, I truly apologize and am ashamed of my incapability.
I do not know if we will ever see each other again, but I just wanted you to know that you will always be my captain wherever I go! I will never forget the time I spent with everyone here in the platoon!”

“Hey!” Lu Xingzhi grabbed Sergeant Ge’s hands tightly.
“We will always be buddies wherever you go!”

Jiang Yao could sense the drastic change in Lu Xingzhi’s mood when she accompanied him back to his room.
The room felt suffocating and depressing when he did not talk.

“I gave Weiqi a call as soon as I could, but it was a little too late! Sun Cuimei can be anywhere now! Weiqi had his men on alert in case they ever come back.” Jiang Yao gently rubbed his eyebrows and said, “We tried our best for Sergeant Ge.”

So many regrets, but it was the cold, hard reality.
