Evolution system: Rise of an irregular Returnee

The returnee examined all his surroundings as Kiera dragged him out of that area. The portal had appeared in the middle of the block, at the time of its opening the buildings around it experienced tremors. There were five lanes total which joined that particular danger zone.

Earth is a weak planet it seems. The mana intensity in the atmosphere is lower than my home.

He concluded while walking, Kyro closed his eyes and inhaled the earthly air. Although he seemed to face slightest changes in his body and power level. But it was not a drastic drop or rise which could affect him in the long run.

But why am I sent here? Is there a calamity about to take place in the near future?

He snapped open his eyes and looked heavenwards. The sun had already set by now, only the last bit of fiery light was left there. Kyro did not seem to be an ordinary returnee, his arrival denied most of the verified facts.

He was taken out of the danger zone towards the end of the block. Kiera could not help herself but occasionally glance back at him. The visible tension and curiosity within her became restless. She had numerous questions drafted from the experience she just had inside that circle.

”There you are, you ass! ”

The chief shouted at her, who was a bald man in his fifties and was smoking a thick cigar. He tilted his head to cast a look at the returnee who was behind Kiera. The old man frowned with a mix of amazement and confusion.

”So, he is the mysterious returnee. ”

He ogled at Kyro while coming forward, the man exhaled a puff of smoke over his face. Although there was a visible height difference between Kyro and the chief, the man still tried to exert dominance.

Only if he knew about the mysterious returnee, the chief would have cleared the way all by himself. Kiera rolled her eyes over her boss reaction, she had seen James doing that stunt multiple times. The chief shook his head and glanced at their interlaced hands while he mocked her.

”Will you leave his hand now? Or have you adopted him? Haha! ”

James, the chief, made a ridiculous remark which did not affect Kiera. The rest of the officers also stood there quietly staring at each other. James was an efficient B-ranked senior officer with a joyous personality. It was another issue that his jokes were un-laughable.

Kiera realised at that moment and immediately released Kyros hand. The returnee smiled meaningfully as he gawked at her. But his little action did not go unnoticed by any of them, and was interrupted by James touch. The chief placed his hand over Kyro chest and pushed him a bit by forming a fist over his muscular chest.

Although it was another case that Kyro remained there unmoved. His physical strength was unmatched for even a B-ranked officer. It was no wonder that Kiera felt that imposing aura coming from him.

”I heard you were naked. Where did you get these clothes? ”

The chief inquired upon looking curiously at Kyro, who in turn pointed out towards Kiera. His senses were working perfectly fine, as for now he did not face any problem in adapting to earths atmosphere and language.

On the other hand, his pointing out made Kiera panic. How could she explain what she saw? It was impossible for someone to absorb material like that. What kind of magic was that? Thus she immediately generated a lie to satiate the curiosity of the chief.

”Oh, I provided him with the clothes. Or you expected me to take him out naked, so you could have a closer look at his….his…. ”

Kiera stammered while struggling to find the accurate and decent words to explain Kyros dick. But her gaze unconsciously travelled from his face towards his pants which were kind of tight around his butt. James on the other side replied in a grumpy tone, he had no answer to her accusation.

He could not punish Kiera or kick her out of the squadron because she was the best one in the district. And the woman was the most suited person to be the head of the squad who worked on battlefields. That was why James had to bear her despite the fact that they both were friends and James was actually gay.

”Huh! Move on. We have to drop him to RCD along with his report. ”

James shrugged off the situation and headed towards the van. Kyro and Kiera followed him with all the other officers. It was more like Kyro trailed behind her because he felt some kind of strange warmth coming from her.

This woman is interesting. Her mana energy is higher compared to all of these people. I wonder what kind of feats she can perform.

He thought to himself while trying to keep his eyes off her round butt which was right in front of his sight. Kiera gear was tight around her body, the skinfit stitching emphasised her curves in right spots.

Kyro had no clue why he was drawn to her in the first place. But Kiera raised some restless curiosity within him. The woman could feel a heated gaze darted on her body, but did not bother to turn to confront Kyro. She was also going through a turmoil of emotions like him. Kiera had witnessed strangest things involving and revolving around that mysterious returnee.

As soon as they reached the van while being immersed in their own thoughts. The ground began to rumble with all the buildings around shaking. It was highly unusual for another portal to appear right after one, there had been usually 24 hours difference before one could open.

”What the hell!? Get ready officers! ”

James yelled at the officers who were barely able to keep themselves in the place. The impact of the earthquake seemed to be impactful, which sent a tremor in every existing thing on the very spot.

They all stood near the junction where the whole group was surrounded by buildings. It did not take long for them to understand the crucial situation. The ground became uplifted from the place where the lood circle was formed. It was the spot where Kyro portal had appeared.

The ground rose in that spot which made a crack in the whole place. James glanced at the area and immediately instructed everyone to split into two groups to remain on either side of the crack. The certain spot appeared as if something was trying to come out of the earths core.

Kiera reached for the returnees hand and pulled Kyro to her side. The man was taken off guard by her bold act which was actually just a reflexive action. Kyro expressions turned soft as his gaze was fixated on her worrisome yet gorgeous face.

”Stay on guard. Keep your eyes and ears open. ”

James instructed his officers as they all somehow managed to keep themselves on foot. The shaking of the ground slowed down, although the cracks spread all around in different and multiple directions.

The officers looked around after the tremors stopped. Everything was apparently calmed now, which appeared to be the silence before a storm. They all examined the surroundings while standing at the junction. There were four malls behind James, the small crack in the ground between him and Kiera.

The female officer was on the left side of the narrow crack which was slightly glowing. There was a residential area behind Kiera and Kyro. Both of them stood a block away from it, all the officers were in a tarrance with what just happened. Kyro could not let go of the warmth he felt due to her hand and the seemingly caring nature.

The building of the mall which was right behind the chief, only a few feet away collapsed in just a few moments. The loud sound snagged their attention, and one after another all of those four buildings were reduced to nothing but a pile of constructive materials. Kyro looked around keenly as his basic senses still worked exceptionally well to detect any kind of danger.

It seems they have already started to move in search of me. This planet is not strong enough to tackle those beasts.

Kyro concluded immediately. He had escaped from those beasts and now a portal appeared right after his arrival. It was obvious that the chasers had reached him.

Kiera carefully examined the whole area with her special specs, trying to figure out if there was anything under the ground. It was the moment when a loud shriek reverberated in the area. The pitch was deafening which forced the squadron to cover their ears immediately.

However for some reason Kyro seemed unaffected by it, instead his serious expression indicated the familiarity with the upcoming danger. He looked around with his fists clenched, as he tried to pick up any demonic mana energy nearby.

James instructed everyone to be on guard as they all assumed for a portal to appear any moment. But something weird happened which was unexpected. Kyro senses instantly pricked and he leaped towards Kiera who was covering her earring and cowered.

Just right at that moment numerous small portals appeared on the ground. They all were the size of a sewerage entrance hole and glowed purple. The officers had never been put into such a situation before. They all were clueless because there was only one kind of portal they were familiar with.

Kiera staggered with her footsteps and fell back on her butt, with Kyro face in between her breasts. The woman wanted to glare at him but the unbearable noise prevented her. However she clearly noticed that he was totally fine, completely unaffected as if he was immune to that shriek or perhaps deaf.

A portal appeared right at the spot where Kiera had been standing just a few seconds ago. She witnessed the glow herself and it made her even more suspicious about Kyro. How was he able to sense the upcoming danger?

Argh, now they are using a sneaky strategy to get me.

Kyro glanced at Kiera who fell on the ground and looked at him with confusion. The monstrous shrieking had stopped by now when multiple portals appeared and numerous officers were pulled into it.

”What is happening? What….what are these things? ”

Kiera had no idea what those small gateways were because one huge portal was the only type in her knowledge. She looked into Kyros eyes with a horrified expression when he released her shoulders.

”Stay here, I will be back. ”

He strictly instructed her with a confident tone. Perhaps he knew what he was doing. Kyro stood up and tied his hair into a bun as if he was getting ready to fight with those beings. Although the situation became harder to understand with every passing second.

Three of the junior officers were pulled inside those purple glowing portals. There was probably no hope for their return the way they were practically dragged into the mouth of death! The other two juniors were heavily panting in fright with their ears bleeding due to horrendous pitch.

James on the other hand was doing fine comparatively so as Kiera. Kyro concluded that their physical ability might have something to do with the ranks they were at. Nonetheless he was confident in his capabilities.

Kyro waited for any sign of another portal, his concentration again shifted towards the demonic mana. But this time something was not right, the pattern of the energy was distributed in many directions. It caused him confusion for a few seconds before he finally caught the actual spot.

Fuck no!

He cursed under his breath upon realising that the portal appeared right in front of Kiera. Kyro immediately turned around, whereas James and the two junior survivors yelled in horror. The woman crawled backwards on her butt reflexively, as a shadow appeared in front of her.
