The Emperor’s forehead trembled.
His eyes looking at the letter of correspondence from the Thersion’s wolf were cold.

He had expected that the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess would die in this war.
The Emperor intended to kill both of them and weaken Thersion’s power, eating them slowly.
But there was a reason now that the Emperor had to keep them alive.

[Traitors who colluded with the enemy forces and threatened the Empire’s safety were found.
Your Majesty, Thersion will go to the capital to serve as the Empire’s sword.
In order to completely eradicate them in the future, we intend to have Thersion’s knights in the capital.
Because this matter was urgent, I was unable to report this to you myself, but I am sending my loyalty along with this letter.

I will meet you soon, Your Majesty.

– Sincerely, Carlisle Thersion]

It was a letter that made the Emperor’s inside turn upside down.
Moreover, Carlisle cleverly didn’t reveal who that traitor was.
But he was subtly implying that they already knew who the ringleader is.

The Emperor gritted his teeth and rang the bell.
As the Grand Chamberlain entered, the Emperor roared.

“Retreat the ambush! Save the lives of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess!”

An Imperial Order that was never reversed, was reversed.
Rebellion was a more serious issue than his inferiority complex and hostility towards Thersion.

Alexa rolled the ball.
Chasing after it, Ysildus perked his ears up and hopped like a rabbit.
Terrun ran next to him.
Their attention was focused on their speed rather than other people.

Running behind them with her hat pressed down, Alexa gasped and stopped running.
She couldn’t keep up with Terrun and Ysildus’ speed.

“Ysu! Terrun! Wait for me!” Alexa groaned.

Kiiiik – she seemed to have heard that sort of sound.
The two wolves who were running like crazy, stopped and turned their heads.
They waited for Alexa to come who was trudging and patting her flushed cheeks.

“Alexa, you are too weak.” Terrun murmured, worried about her.

“I’m not weak.
I am an average human.”

“No, you’re weaker than the weaker wolf in Thersion.
Then that means you’re weak.” Terrun insisted.

“No, I am a human.
So, an average human….”

“Alexa, can you lift Ysu with one hand?” Terrun pointed to Ysildus who was tilting his head.

Ysildus was now a 10-kilo lump of muscles.
Karrolf would come to class and usually take a look at Ysildus and say that he was in great shape.
Moreover, his body was full of muscles, so he was strong.
There was no reason he wouldn’t be like that when he runs around the mansion.

But with one hand? Alexa hesitated.
Terrun clicked his tongue and held Ysildus with one hand.

“Arf!!”

As Ysildus twisted his body and resisted, Terrun suppressed him with one hand.
Although Ysildus was a strong wolf, he was still a baby and Terrun was many times his size.

“Arff!”

Ysildus bared his fangs and threatened him.
He naturally didn’t stop there, scratching his arm with his front paws and bit him here and there.
Blood was dripping from Terrun’s fingers, which had been wounded by the chain.

“A, ack! Terrun, you’re bleeding!”

“It’s okay.
It doesn’t hurt.”

“I don’t think that’s the problem….
Alright, alright, I am weak.
Put down Ysildus now.”

Only then did Terrun put down Ysildus at Alexa’s words.
But he had already scratches on his cheeks and was bleeding.
Even after Alexa had told him to put down Ysildus on the floor, he (Ysu) huffed and rushed to Terrun.

“Ysu, stop it.
He was sorry.”

“I’m not…”

“Terrun!”

“Yeah, sorry.”

Alex glanced at him and wrapped a handkerchief around Terrun’s arm, nodding like an obedient puppy.
Alexa wiped the blood on Terrun’s face with the hem of her sleeve.
Hovering around Alexa, Ysildus bared his fangs at Terrun.

“Krrrng….”

“Ysu must have been very surprised.”

Terrun nodded his head.
Whatever Alexa says is right.
Ysildus was clearly angry rather than being surprised, but he agreed with what Alexa said.

“It’s okay, Ysu.”

Alexa cuddled Ysildus in her arms, soothing him like a baby.
Her beating heart gradually subsided.
Terrun gazed at Ysildus with a strange look – a fox who was whining and licking Alexa’s face.

‘I think he was aiming for that.’

Alexa was busy placating the abominable wolf with an innocent face that knew nothing.
Terrun fiddled with the handkerchief wrapped around his arm.
Alexa’s body temperature was seeping into him.
Terrun wrinkled his nose.
There was a peculiarly sweet smell that only Alex had.
Terrun sniffed it again and again, as if trying to imprint it inside his head.

“Now let’s go.
Where did the ball go?”

Alexa tilted her head and started to walk.
Terrun followed after her. Alexa is weak.
Alexa needs to be protected.
I should not run in front of Alexa. Terrun nodded.

Ysildus, who was walking beside Alexa, looked back at Terrun and then turned forward.
Finding the ball, Ysildus grabbed Alexa’s skirt in his snout and pulled her.

‘Mine, my person – mine, the person I have to protect.’ Ysildus’ faint consciousness whispered – in a shrill, hoarse voice.

Watching the children playing, the Head Maid faintly smiled.
I’m glad she came out.

Alexa is significantly lacking in exercise.
Karrolf advised Alexa to exercise under the sun more in order to be healthy.
Thinking she deserved this time, the Head Maid opened the lunch box.
Of course, Ysildus’ food was prepared separately.

The basket was full of things like rice balls and sandwiches that Alexa had been working hard in the kitchen.
There were some in odd shapes as Terrun had helped her from the side.
Selina also helped while walking on eggshells with the Head Maid’s gaze.

“Selina.”

“Yes, Head Maid.”

“I’ve warned you, haven’t I?”

It was a soft and gentle voice.
But the Head Maid’s face, showing her fangs with a tilted head, wasn’t like that at all.

“Hiic!”

Selina fell backward, falling on her butt.
The Head Maid bent her waist and knelt down on one knee in front of Selina.

“You must be stupid.
Maybe you didn’t fully understand my words.
Is it hard to say that somebody like you can be killed anytime?” The Head Maid asked her, as if she was singing.

She dared put her hand on Alexa’s things? She didn’t bite her right away because Alexa would definitely be curious if she suddenly disappeared.
She was the one who insisted on having Selina in this picnic.
She didn’t want to do any harm to the kind Alexa.

“N-no! No, Head Maid! I, I was wrong!”

Selina got up quickly and fell on her floor.

“Kid, you have to get the subject right.
Why do you keep forgetting what Alexa ‘owned’?”

“P-please spare me… I was wrong.” Selina sniffed.

I don’t know why I should be treated like this.
Didn’t she tell me that if I go to Thersion and listen to her words, I will be able to have this world? But Selina had nothing in her hands.
She was treated worse than a worm living inside Thersion.

“I will only warn you twice.
You will die if I warn you again.” The Head Maid whispered gently.

Without the slightest threat, Alexa was coming in the distance.
The Head Maid reached out her hand and lifted Selina.
She pushed Selina’s back with her trembling, pale face.

“Selina! Why are you here? Let’s play the ball together.
They’re so fast it’s no fun.”

Alexa beckoned her with a smile.
Selina pressed her heart that was like burning in flames.

‘Unlucky!’

The Head Maid whispered as she stared on top of Selina’s head.

“What are you doing? You should faithfully serve your cause as a toy.”

Selina forced a smile and ran towards Alexa.

“Yes, Miss Alexa!”

Today, Selina and Ysildus had a chance to get closer to each other, but it wasn’t that easy.
Ysildus originally came from a highly vigilant family and didn’t allow other’s hand to touch him recklessly.
It was the same with Selina, who almost got bitten after trying to pet him again and again before giving up in the end.

Alexa flicked Ysildus’ snout with her finger, who was showing his teeth with a troubled face.

“You can’t do that!”

“Krrrng!”

“Are you in a rebellious phase now? Ysu, you really don’t listen to me!”

“Kiing?”

As if it was never the case, Ysildus crawled under Alexa’s feet and wagged his tail.
Alexa burst out in laughter thanks to Ysildus who stuck out his tongue and his beaming face.

“You think you can do everything when you act cute, right? Terrun, he must have been a fox.”

“That’s right.”

“What do you mean?”

Alexa grinned and turned her head to Selina.

“That’s because he’s picky.
You’ll be able to get closer soon.”

It was only natural because Selina had the female lead buff.
It would happen even if Alexa didn’t force it – that was her fate as the female lead of the novel.

“That would be possible.
With Miss Alexa’s help.”
