The dress that the Art Committee girl had pointed out was beige.
Its design was overall very simple and suitable for students their age, but also a little bit European retro style in some of the details.

The store clerk, noticing what Gu Xi was looking at, said, “That necktie belongs to the same series as well.”

“Is that so?” Gu Xi’s eyes lit up.
No wonder it looked familiar to her.

“Can I see it?”

“Of course.” The store clerk took the tie down and handed it over to Gu Xi while selling it to her, “This series is suitable for all ages.
You can even gift this necktie to an elder and it can double as a family outfit……”

Gu Xi was finally convinced by the store clerk to buy the necktie.

When she went to pay for them, she realized that the necktie was the same price as her dress!

She couldn’t possibly told her that the necktie was the main product of the series and the dress and the other accessories were the accompanying pieces.

“If you are gifting this to Dad, you can get the scarf for Mom too.” The store clerk recommended again, but she missed how the light in Gu Xi’s eyes had dimmed.

“That won’t be necessary.” Gu Xi shook her head.

Gu Xi was pained by the prices of the two items.

Nevertheless, after hesitating for a few seconds and looking back and forth between the dress and the necktie, Gu Xi liked them both very much.

She finally gritted her teeth and bought both of them.

“Can I pay for part of it in cash and the remainder with my card?” asked Gu Xi.

She still had some of her money remaining plus part of them was from her prize money from her previous competition.
Lo and behold, that was only enough to cover half of the amount.

She would have to pay for the remaining half with her bank card.

Gu Xi never checked to see how much allowances did Gu Xi put on the card for her so she had no idea.

She hoped she had enough.

Gu Xi was a bit nervous and failed to notice the surprise that crossed the store clerk’s face when she handed the card over.

Some store clerk’s “ability” was to convince the customers, after they had already bought what the need, to also buy stuff that they never planned to and didn’t even need.
It was vital for Gu Xi to hold her ground.

Of course, mainly also because she does not have a lot of disposable income.
