”How did you do that? ” Kim Jae-hoon asked curiously.

”Its a trick that I learned while you were unconscious. ” Park Sun-jae said smiling to him. ”If I want, I can pick up objects that are non-living things without interfering with the living world by doing it. As you can see, it replicates anything that I touch and transforms it into a spiritual form so that I can grab it. So, eating any food or wearing any clothes is possible with my current capabilities. ”

Kim Jae-hoon didn know a human spirit could do that. It was different from what he learned through watching movies or tv shows back in his world.

I guess superficial theories are mere lies until proven otherwise. He thought to himself.

Afterwards, they both ate their meal until their stomach was full.

It was evening time and the atmosphere around was extremely cold. If not for the fire, Kim Jae-hoon would have frozen to death.

After having his dinner, he lay down near the campfire and stared at the beautiful stars in the sky. As for the other person, he was just sitting on the rock and was thinking deeply about something.

”I wonder if grandpa is searching for me this late at night. ” Park Sun-jae mumbled to himself with a tint of sadness on his face.

”You have a grandfather? ” Kim Jae-hoon asked upon overhearing his whispering.

”Well, yes. Hes my world. My parents died while they were hunting in the woods when I was just a newborn. Ever since then, hes been taking care of me all by himself. ”

”Oh, I see. My condolences. ”

”Never mind! I don miss them much anymore. ” He shook his head in disagreement. ”When grandpa took me in, he made sure that I never feel the lack of their presence and raised me like his own child. ”

”You must be lucky then. As for me, I never had the chance to experience such parental love in my life. ” Kim Jae-hoon sighed.

”Why do you say that? ”

”As long as I can remember, I was an orphan. I never knew my real parents nor anyone became mine. I spent my entire childhood in an orphanage and when I turned 18 years old, I left the place with some allowance for a month and started doing odd jobs to continue my studies. ”

”Orphan? Orphanage? What is that? ” the ghost twitched his eyebrows upon hearing unfamiliar words from his friend.

Ah. I forgot. Something cropped up in Kim Jae-hoons mind when he saw his partner looking at him dumbfounded.

”An orphan is a kid who have been abandoned by their parents or whose parents are dead at a young age, leaving them behind alone without any relative to rely on. ” He replied.

”Oh, I see. Im sorry for blurting out things that might hurt you indirectly. ” Park Sun-jae bowed his head with a guilty conscience in his eyes.

”Don be. Its all in the past. I just wanted to share my past life since we don have anything to do here. ”

Hearing his words, Park Sun-jae heaved a sigh of relief. ”Im glad to hear that then. ”

Then an awkward silence enveloped in the surrounding with no one uttering a word to each other for a while.

”So, tell me more about this world of yours. Im curious. ” Kim Jae-hoon asked breaking the silence and changing the subject altogether.

With a sudden question like that, it surprised Park Sun-jae a bit. But he soon responded the young man. ”Uh… Okay. What do you want to hear about it? ”

”Anything! ” said Kim Jae-hoon in high spirits.

”Well, let me tell you about the history of Pearl City. Is that okay? ”

”Its alright. Even boring history subjects would be delightful to hear in this situation. ”

”Haha! Very well then… ”

Park Sun-jae began telling him all about Pearl City that he knows.

”Originally, our ancestors were not from this island. They took shelter here when their actual homeland was destroyed by the enemies and they had nowhere else to go. Later, they build a small civilization at the east side of the island and named it Ocean Tribe. ”

”Stop! Stop! ” Kim Jae-hoon interrupted. ”Something doesn add up. How come is it Ocean Tribe and not Pearl City!? ”

”Yes, Pearl City was originally known as Ocean Tribe. At that time, beasts from the forest would occasionally invade our territory and countless people would die every time they. When only a handful of warriors were left alive to fight them and all hope was lost, a grand warrior came to the rescue and saved the Ocean Tribe from the peril. ”

With excitement in his eyes, Kim Jae-hoon asked. ”Who was it? ”

Upon hearing that, Park Sun-jae smiled pridefully and spoke. ”It was none other than the great ancestor of Yu Family – Yu Sun-jae. He was a spirit king soul master and came from the outside world. ”

”Just like us, Yu Sun-jae and his family came looking for shelter on this island. After finding out about the root of the problem, he defeated most of the beasts with his mighty powress and made them retreat to the forest where they came from. ”

”Afterwards, Pearl City was founded and Yu Sun Jae set up an invisible barrier around the city which prevents the monsters to enter the place up till now. ”

”Damn! I never thought there was such a badass history behind this Pearl City that you talk about. ” Kim Jae-hoon stated with a thumps up to the storyteller.

”You liked it, right? ” Park Sun-jae gleefully smiled and said excitedly. ”I too love the history behind it. Whats more, I want to become a soul master just like him. ”

”Hey, what is this soul master? some sort of martial artist? ” he asked.

”You don know? I thought you were from the outside world. ”

Kim Jae-hoon narrowed his gaze and asked. ”Are soul masters common in the outside world as well? ”

”Well, obviously. Everyone in the world can become a soul master these days. ” Park Sun-jae said calmly.

Upon hearing his words, Kim Jae-hoon got up suddenly with his eyes wide open and a sudden realisation hit him.
