The next afternoon, Wang Yihan and Cool Brother went back home.
Lin Xi said that the music club was preparing for tomorrow’s trip, so she was going to help out.

Lu Yuanyuan set her alarm and stayed in the dorm until the agreed upon time.
She calculated the time and arrived at the library’s public lounge area ten minutes early.

She didn’t expect Su Lin to arrive earlier than she did.

The public lounge area was set up with ten long tables and chairs.
Directly opposite the seats were large, open windows that were almost the same size as floor-to-ceiling windows.
The afternoon sunlight shone in without missing a spot, and his silhouette looked slightly golden.

Because it was the first day of the break, the library was empty and there was no one around him.

His long legs were extended, his head slightly lowered to look at his phone, vaguely revealing the smooth lines of his side profile.
His fingers swiped across the screen from time to time.

He was obviously backlit, so his features couldn’t be distinguished.

But this person just had the special ability to make people feel, at a glance, that he must be very good-looking.

    Lu Yuanyuan remembered last time.
He wanted to record a scholarship interview video for her, and this was also the agreed upon place.

Afterwards, they changed locations, actually because his little fangirls were so excited that they were close to screaming.

She smiled a little and walked over towards him.

    “Senior.”

The moment she called out, he raised his head.

He looked at her steadily for a few seconds before he spoke up, “…… Mm.”

The long tables required people to sit side to side.
Lu Yuanyuan went all the way around the table and sat next to him.
Probably because of the month of being seatmates in French, she had gotten completely used to him being on her left.
She rightfully sat on his right hand side.

When she sat down, Su Lin’s movements paused for a second.

She sat closer than she usually did in French.
He didn’t know if the faint scent that enveloped him at once came from her body or her hair.

A few seconds later, he lowered his eyes to unlock his phone, opened his notes app, and was about to speak-

    “Senior, thank you.”

    “?” He turned his head.

“Just, um, for your club’s activity,” Lu Yuanyuan explained with a completely earnest expression: “My roommate told me that you agreed to let me follow along after she asked you.”

“…… Oh,” His lips hooked up, “You’re welcome.”

Lu Yuanyuan took a deep breath.

She suddenly put both elbows on the table, sitting like she was going to listen to a lecture, and turned her head to look at him with vague excitement in her voice: “So.
Are we going to start, senior!”

    “……”

Lu Yuanyuan puzzled: “What are you laughing at….”

“…… If you’re like this,” He gestured to her arms, “how will you type?”

Looking down at her posture, Lu Yuanyuan instantly realized.

She took out her phone from her backpack and cupped both hands, “Um, now I’m ready.”

Su Lin looked at her eyes full of expectation and was a little curious, “So, why do you….
type slowly?”

“Because I didn’t have a phone in middle school and high school.
After graduating from high school, my grandpa bought me a cell phone, and I’m still not used to it after more than three months of using it….”

Su Lin thought for a moment and turned his head to her, “Let’s do it like this.
You say a sentence, and I’ll type.
So you can see normal typing speed.”

    “Mkay, mkay.”

Lu Yuanyuan’s eyes wandered around as she thought, then looked at him, her eyes suddenly shiny: “Next year, Lu Yuanyuan will get another scholarship!”

    “……”

“Is this sentence okay to type?”

    “Okay.” He smiled, “Watch.”

Then he started typing with a click-clacking sound.

“Oh…” Lu Yuanyuan almost blurted out the “fuck” after.

She was almost brainwashed by Wang Yihan and Lin Xi’s constant repeating of this expression every day in the dormitory.

Luckily, she stopped herself from saying that word in time, “Oh damn1!

    “People can type this fast!”

    “……”

The corners of Su Lin’s mouth twitched.

What kind of words were these?

Looking at the two words Lu Yuanyuan, he suddenly said, “You know, there’s actually a shortcut to texting.”

“……” Lu Yuanyuan was a little at a loss.

He spoke so concisely that all his words were filled with suspense.

She asked cooperatively, “What’s the shortcut?”

“When you type a word more than once, it gets saved.
That way, you only need to type the first letters of the word when you want to type it later.”

    “……”

Su Lin simply typed another phrase to demonstrate, “Look, for example, just type the ‘Yuanyuan’ from your name.”

Lu Yuanyuan was listening well, when she suddenly heard him say “Yuanyuan”.

His voice wasn’t particularly low when speaking normally.
In between a teenager and an adult, it was very magnetic and recognizable.

   ….
Very captivating.

Lu Yuanyuan shook her head and focused her attention on his screen.

“…… I’ve typed ‘Yuanyuan’ twice now and the input method has been remembered.
At this time, you just need to type ‘y y’.”

Su Lin pressed out “y y”, while telling her: “Then, what you’ll get is Yuan-“

    His voice stopped abruptly.

On the screen, from left to right, displayed the following in succession:

    [Sexual fantasy, Hospital, Yuanyuan]

    The first one: [Sexual… fantasy]

    Su Lin: “……..”

    Yuanyuan: “……..”

Su Lin couldn’t help but hold his breath.

He felt that he had never been so embarrassed in all his life.

    This fucking-

    “Pfft hahahahaha!”

    “……”

Suddenly, he heard the sound of laughter.
Su Lin turned his head, and saw the little girl laughing so hard her doe eyes were narrowed shut, her cheeks pink.
She laughed as her body shook.

There was a word for this.

    Oh, rocking back and forth.

Su Lin looked at her rocking back and forth, looked away, and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

    What was this all about….

When Lu Yuanyuan finally laughed enough, and her bright eyes were glittering, she gasped for breath while looking at him, “Senior, continue explaining.”

    “……”

Su Lin didn’t want her to remember the scene just now.

So he began to bullshit: “Well….
according to what you said, it’s not actually that you can’t (type fast), you’re just not practiced.
Everyone’s like this after just getting a phone.
Even if you know the pinyin in your head, you can’t remember where the letters are on the keyboard, so you’ll type very slowly.”

    Damn it….

What the hell was he talking about.

Wasn’t this something that even idiots knew-

“Ah!” Lu Yuanyuan suddenly piped up, dropping her previous smile.
She had a very agreeing expression on her face: “Yes, yes, yes! That’s it! That’s me every time! Every time I look for the pinyin letters I want to type, I have to look for a long time.
It’s really painful!”

Her soft voice was absolutely sympathetic.

    Really….

“…… Mm.” Su Lin held back a smile and nodded, fighting hard to divert her attention, “So, start typing now.”

    “Huh?”

    “I’ll talk, you type.
Let’s practice.”

Lu Yuanyuan pulled up her phone’s notes app and cupped her hands, “I’m ready now.”

Su Lin nodded, “Type this sentence.”

    “Senior-Su-is-a-good-person.” He said.

    “……”

Lu Yuanyuan glanced at him, didn’t speak, lowered her head, and typed silently.

Su Lin watched her poke one letter at a time.
Finally, after about thirty seconds, she tilted the phone screen toward him, “Finished typing!”

He had only glanced at it casually, and just wanted to withdraw his eyes-

    “Lu Yuanyuan.”

“Hmm?” She held up her phone, and after being addressed, she responded reflexively, “What’s wrong?”

Su Lin had a smile on his face, his eyes half-squinted, making his eyes appear long and narrow, “Have you checked it?”

   …..
Hm?

Lu Yuanyuan puzzledly took her phone back and seriously read out word for word:

    “Senior-Su-is-a-fierce, fierce person???”

    “…….”

    “……….”

Lu Yuanyuan “ah”ed, then instantly reacted and began to explain, “Sorry, senior! I mixed up a and e.
They looked almost the same….”

    Su Lin’s forehead creased a little: “……”

    A and e.
Where was the resemblance?

He didn’t say anything and nodded, “Type another sentence.”

“Mm.” The little girl obediently held the phone in both hands, her attitude as serious as facing an exam, “Don’t worry, I’ll look at the letters this time.”

    “Senior-Su-is-very-good-at-French.”

    “……”

Lu Yuanyuan shot him another silent look before starting to type.

    Still nearly thirty seconds.

“Okay!” Once Lu Yuanyuan finished typing, she couldn’t wait to show him her phone.

    “……”

Su Lin looked at her note.

    Narrowed his eyes again.

When she typed, was she just poking the pinyin and not checking at all what words she typed…..

Her last sentence wasn’t corrected, and the second sentence he’d just read-

    Mistyped again.

This time, she chose the right letter, but forgot to choose the right phrase, and automatically used the default phrase that was most common.

The two sentences in the memo were linked together.

[Senior Su is a fierce person.]

[Senior Su is very sexually developed.]

   ….?

The very sexually developed and fierce Senior Su: “………”

The author has something to say.

Fierce Guy Su:….
Good job.

Deer OO:….QAQ Waah, we’re even.
Who told you to turn Yuanyuan into –beep-! (*/ω\*)

To explain the typing situation, like mentioned before, in Chinese, there’s pinyin for words which is basically using the alphabet to sound out Chinese characters.
There’s multiple different words for the same sound so after you type the pinyin, you have to choose the right Chinese character.
For example, using ‘yuan’, there’s park and circle out of many other possible meanings.
This chapter is kinda lost in translation but I hope it’s still kinda funny to y’all.
Coming up soon is my fave mini-arc of the novel!!!

I’ve been doing the past chapters while watching Youtube.
Take that info however you may (aka don’t be mean if some things don’t make sense).

1 To be very honest, I don’t know the difference between 卧槽 and 妈的.
I translate both as the f-word because that’s what my research says they mean.
However, the first one seems to be more aggressive and vulgar.
Yuanyuan switched to the second one after almost saying the first so, in this instance, I changed it to damn instead of the f-word (to show she was holding back).
Many things get lost in translation.
Perhaps I should change all the 妈的 to damn… thoughts?
