Lin Hanchuan officially moved into the palace and was semi-confined in the secondary hall, together with Xue Lai, the malicious male supporting character who hated him to the bone.

In this world, there were too many new things, and Lin Hanchuan seemed to have returned to the time when he was a researcher, immersed in the study of new knowledge, unable to extricate himself.

When there was a knock on the door, Lin Hanchuan didn’t hear it at first.
It was only after a reminder from 001 that he realized someone was knocking.

[Could it be Mo’er?] 001 looked nervous, a touch of orange mixed into its orange color, [You can’t defeat him now.
What if he wants to use force against you?]

Lin Hanchuan flicked 001 away with one finger, feeling amused and exasperated, [“It’s not him.”]

Sent flying, 001 grumbled as it rolled away, lying motionless on the ground, making sounds like it had suffered some severe injury.

Ignoring its antics, Lin Hanchuan walked over to open the door.
As expected, the visitor wasn’t Mo’er but a stranger, a military female Zerg.

This military female Zerg had a handsome appearance, exuding the same rugged charm as Mo’er, but there was a hint of sincerity and uprightness that Mo’er lacked.
He looked dignified and honest.

“Hello,” the military female Zerg smiled with curved eyes, greeting Lin Hanchuan, “I am the new guard, Grant.
You can call me Gran.
If you need anything, feel free to call me anytime.”

The name sounded somewhat familiar.
001 searched its storage system for a second before suddenly bouncing up from the ground.

“Sure, please prepare a more powerful processing brain for me, thanks,” Lin Hanchuan nodded without hesitation, making his request straightforward.

Grant was taken aback and a little hesitant.
He instinctively wanted to look towards Xue Lai’s room next door, but he quickly turned his head back, “Your Excellency, it’s my honor to serve you, but His Majesty has instructed not to…”

Lin Hanchuan closed the door coldly, leaving Grant and the door that almost hit his nose in bewilderment.

[Chuanchuan, he’s the second male supporting character who triggers the conflict between the protagonist and his mate.] 001 ran all the way and jumped to Lin Hanchuan’s feet, holding onto his ankle, hesitating in its explanation.

Lin Hanchuan remained composed, [“I know.”]

If the first male supporting character, Lin Jianshen, was the silent and devoted type, then Grant was like a thorn constantly inserted between the protagonist and his mate.

In the original text, when Du Lu was brought back to the palace and learned of Xue Lai’s existence, he felt tormented and jealous.
At that time, Grant appeared by his side.
Similar to Xue Lai, Grant was gentle, honest, and kind, comforting Du Lu when Mo’er was busy cultivating and upgrading.
As a result, Du Lu regarded Grant as a trustworthy friend and developed a close relationship with him due to his feelings toward Xue Lai.

With Xue Lai by Mo’er’s side and Grant by Du Lu’s side, the relationship between the protagonist and his mate became so strained that it seemed irreconcilable.

[Grant is Xue Lai’s pursuer, and he was sent here to seduce you…] 001 was indignant and was about to say more, but its voice suddenly stopped, [Huh? You already know?]

[I read the original text too.] Lin Hanchuan smiled and shook his head.

As the two conversed, there was another knock on the door.
Lin Hanchuan wasn’t surprised and waited for a moment before opening the door, “What do you want now?”

A hint of disdain flickered in Grant’s eyes, but he quickly replaced it with a charming smile, “Your Excellency, I can’t disobey His Majesty’s orders, but I can prepare the best processing brain for you.
Although it can’t access the interstellar network, it contains many games that don’t require the network.
You won’t be bored.”

The military female Zerg effortlessly held a large processing brain in his hands, maintaining a respectful attitude and a cordial tone, impeccable in every way.

The male Zerg on the other side, however, only responded with a cold “thank you” and then slammed the door, almost hitting Grant’s nose.

Grant’s perfect smile gradually cracked, and the door beside him opened at some point.
Xue Lai looked a bit displeased, “You didn’t even enter his room.”

“I’m sorry…” Grant felt extremely guilty and immediately apologized.
However, his apology was just that, and he couldn’t come up with any comforting words.

This was a military female Zerg who lacked any sense of life’s interests.
Xue Lai took a deep breath.
Among his pursuers, Grant was the most outstanding one—born noble with both physique and spiritual power reaching A-rank.
If not for the purpose of creating a rift between Mo’er and that male Zerg, Xue Lai wouldn’t have pushed Grant away.

“It’s okay.” Xue Lai smiled gently, not blaming Grant.
On the contrary, he consoled him, “He was pampered and indulged growing up in a honey jar, so it’s understandable for him to be a little arrogant and willful.
It must be hard for you to try to please such a difficult-to-approach male Zerg…”

“I’m fine.” Grant’s face turned red, and he hastily replied, “For you, Your Excellency Xue Lai, I’m willing to make any sacrifice.”

Grant couldn’t understand why the spoiled and rude little male Zerg was worth liking.
Clearly, Excellency Xue Lai was the most outstanding male Zerg in the entire Zerg star—a treasure among all Zergs.
Compared to Xue Lai, that little male Zerg was nothing.

Thinking about Excellency Xue Lai’s promise that if he successfully lured away that little male Zerg, he would become Excellency Xue Lai’s mate, Grant couldn’t help but tremble with excitement.

He was just a male Zerg who had recently come of age and had not experienced much.
Grant didn’t believe there was any difficulty in dealing with him.

Xue Lai smiled slightly, his emerald-green eyes profound and inscrutable.

After receiving the processing brain, Lin Hanchuan didn’t open it immediately.
Instead, he had 001 scan and check it before formally turning it on.

Although the Zerg star already had wrist-worn main brains, they only had basic functions, similar to human smartphones.
Some complex tasks still required a computer to operate, such as holographic online games and hacking into a city’s surveillance system.

[Chuanchuan, I’ve already connected to the interstellar network with a virtual IP.] 001 reported its findings.

[Well done.] Lin Hanchuan’s eyes lit up with a hint of a smile.
He lowered his head slightly and sent a message on the wrist-worn main brain.
Then he put on the neural network helmet from the processing brain.

Within a few seconds, Lin Hanchuan closed his eyes, leaving 001 muttering in the room, [“He’s gone to find that mute person again…”]

When he opened his eyes again, Lin Hanchuan found himself in a beautiful forest.
The surrounding trees were lush, and sunlight scattered through the gaps in the space, accompanied by the sound of gurgling streams in the distance.

Curiously, he reached out and caught a beam of light, even feeling the warmth in his palm.

Lin Hanchuan’s eyes glowed with excitement.
In his world, there was already VR technology capable of capturing movements, but in this world, there was already holographic technology capable of creating an entire world.

“Is this your first time playing this game?” A passerby noticed Lin Hanchuan and spoke to him.
He was the first to see such a pure newcomer, so he couldn’t help but stop and ask.

Lin Hanchuan turned around and saw a tall and thin person with wooden-colored skin, even bearing a wooden texture.

When the person saw Lin Hanchuan’s face directly, he exclaimed, “How much did you spend on this face? I don’t think there’s this kind of template on the interstellar network.
Is it expensive?”

Lin Hanchuan’s gaze flickered, and he smiled, “This is my first time playing this game.
I bought a new account.”

“Just based on your face, even though it’s a level 0 new account, it must have cost tens of thousands of credits…” The tree person was clearly a sociable individual.
He walked to Lin Hanchuan’s side, “Although I’m only level 10, I have a level 160 main account.
Call me brother, and I’ll take you to play.”

As the tree person’s hand rested on his shoulder, he found his lower body abruptly sinking into the ground, realizing too late that the newcomer in front of him showed no reaction, just a smile on his face.

When he turned around, he saw a cold man looking indifferently at him.
He then stood in front of Lin Hanchuan, obviously acting as his protector, like a loyal dog beside a young master, showing possessiveness while guarding him.

“You’re together?” The tree person, having lost half of his body, skillfully pulled his legs, which had transformed into roots, out of the ground and chuckled, “A level 200 master! If you had said you were protected, I wouldn’t have come to disturb you…”

“Sorry if I scared you.” Lin Hanchuan smiled faintly, “It’s indeed my first time playing this game.
If you don’t mind, we can team up and complete the newbie missions, okay?”

Lin Hanchuan just gave a faint smile, and the tree person unconditionally forgave him, following him eagerly, “Sure, sure.”

The fully leveled expert remained silent throughout, not saying a word.
He followed behind the beautiful youth, and his gaze towards the tree person was fierce.
But the tree person was completely immersed in Lin Hanchuan’s beauty, oblivious to it all.

“What race are you? An elf? Or a merfolk? You can’t be a tree person like me, right…” The tree person chattered away, full of energy.
Lin Hanchuan occasionally replied a few times, and the tree person was like a chicken blood, brimming with happiness.

Before entering the holographic game, Lin Hanchuan only wanted to see what the legendary holographic online game was like.
He intended to meet with Lin Jianshen and discuss how to escape from the palace.

However, upon encountering the tree person player, Lin Hanchuan suddenly realized that although the original text mentioned only the Zerg Star and the Zerg race, in reality, the universe was vast and magnificent.
Beyond the original text, there existed an expansive and boundless cosmos.

After completing the basic tasks, the tree person had something to attend to and reluctantly left the team and logged out.

With the tree person’s ceaseless chatter gone, the surrounding air suddenly became quiet, and only the rustling of the forest trees and the sound of the wind remained.
Lin Jianshen silently followed behind Lin Hanchuan, gazing at the male Zerg whose appearance had not changed in the game.

“What is the universe like beyond the Zerg Star?” Lin Hanchuan suddenly asked as they sat on a rock by the creek.

The Zerg Star’s education mainly focused on obedience and procreation.
It briefly mentioned the history of the Zerg race joining the Interstellar Alliance, but beyond that, there were no traces of information.
It seemed as though the vast universe had only one Zerg Star, drifting in solitude.

After growing up, even though the Zergs came into contact with the interstellar network, the Zerg Star had its own isolated network.
Although all the Zergs knew that the universe was vast and filled with many other races, most of them remained unaware of the outside world.

The original host was the same.
He was a typical male Zerg who had never considered anything beyond the Zerg Star.

Lin Jianshen’s appearance in the game was also the same as in reality, with deep, repressed black eyes.
He silently stared at Lin Hanchuan for a long time before opening the chat interface and typing: “Very vast.”

After a pause, under Lin Hanchuan’s curious gaze, he continued typing: “Very bustling.
There are 16 major race classifications and 172 races in total in the universe.
There are 576 planets in the entire universe where intelligent life exists.”

Lin Hanchuan narrowed his eyes slightly and asked again, “Are there any life planets without intelligent beings?”

Lin Jianshen thought for a moment and typed to inform Lin Hanchuan that there was one nearby, but it was barren and unsuitable for the Zerg race to survive, so the insects had not migrated there.

Lin Hanchuan seemed lost in thought.
A vague idea flashed through his mind, and as he was about to return to his senses, he noticed Lin Jianshen gazing at him intently.
There was something suppressed and frightening in his gaze.
Lin Hanchuan smiled, “What’s with that expression?”

What expression? Lin Jianshen subconsciously touched his own face.

“You look pitiful.” Lin Hanchuan patted Lin Jianshen’s head gently.

That overly beautiful face drew Lin Jianshen’s heart to soften at first sight.
He wished he could keep the male Zerg locked in his spaceship, so they could be together day and night.

“Just wait until I leave the palace,” Lin Hanchuan said, his eyes indifferent.
“Then we can be together…”

Together? Together for what? Lin Jianshen’s eyes trembled slightly.
He wanted to ask, but he was too timid to do so.

After exiting the holographic game, 001 immediately came to show off, [“Chuanchuan, I’ve infiltrated the entire palace’s alarm system!”]

[“Very impressive.”] Lin Hanchuan casually patted 001’s head, just like touching a small animal.
[“Continue.
I need the information on the aerial control of the entire Zerg Star.”]

001 cheerfully responded and got to work.
Lin Hanchuan connected to the external network and searched for the information he needed.

Several days passed like this.
Apart from sending messages to Lin Jianshen daily, Lin Hanchuan’s schedule was reversed, and his day-night cycle was chaotic until someone knocked on his door again.

Before 001 could remind him, Lin Hanchuan lifted his head with a calm gaze.

Without waiting for Lin Hanchuan to open the door, it was pushed open, and before Mo’er walked in, Lin Hanchuan quickly disconnected from the processing brain, while 001 hastily stuffed the scattered handwritten materials under the bed.

Mo’er had already become the Zerg Emperor, and he was more spirited and radiant.
Compared to him, Lin Hanchuan looked much more haggard, “…Are you not doing well?”

Mo’er’s heart ached.
He knew this little male Zerg couldn’t live without him.
He hadn’t expected that in just a few days, the other party would become such a pitiful sight.

Author’s note:

This world is so tricky.
Originally, the outline was that the attacker would take all the male Zergs away from the Zerg Star, leaving the female Zergs to take over the planet and leaving many female Zergs on the verge of mental collapse.
In the end, they could only beg the attacker to open the star channel and exchange resources and funds for male Zerg mental treatment, which would be a win-win situation…

But this ending seemed too fanciful.
It unexpectedly developed from face-slapping and scum-abusing to going to another planet, which was harshly criticized by my friend.
I think she was right, so I quickly changed the outline and decided that the attacker would lead a rebel army to fight for equality and become the pioneer of equality, achieving equality between male and female Zergs.

However, no matter how I tried to change it, I couldn’t make it smooth.
I always felt that, why bother to transform those female or male Zergs? Both genders complained about each other, so why not just let them part ways peacefully…

After trying to change it many times and not making it work, I finally decided to stick to my original outline.

In other words, the final ending is that the attacker takes most of the male Zergs away from the Zerg Star and establishes a new planet!

PS.
Due to personal headcanon, in this world, the male Zergs seem to have a higher status, but in reality, they are kept by the female Zergs.
They are like pets that will scratch and bite you.
Will you get angry when a pet grabs and bites you? Will you be seriously hurt when a pet scratches you? Therefore, this “inequality” is based on false tolerance and respect.

Male Zergs find it difficult to participate in politics or enter the military.
Essentially, they are just support and breeding machines.

I know this ending is a bit out of the ordinary.
If you don’t like it, you can skip it and wait for the next world.
