sted over, and his eyes chilly.

Naturally, Jiang Mocheng noticed the sharp killing intent prickling his back, but he merely sneered, and pretended not to see anything.

And so, the contest between the pro- and antagonist continued like this…

When Mu Yueshi and Ding Yi were together and the atmosphere was getting cozy, young master Jiang would come in and mess things up.

Afterwards, Mu Yueshi would quietly pay him back, and thus the antagonistic cycle continued.
There were no bonds of brotherhood, only debts of annoyance.

They were both excellent actors, though, and so they seemed to be as close as brothers on the outside while beating each other to a pulp behind everyone’s backs.

When the main characters wanted to act, they really got it right!

The busy Ding Yi was utterly clueless towards their immature arguments.

Recently, she took a couple more big jobs, because she wanted to save up a fortune before Mount Yuling held their entrance exams in case there was a need for bribery.

One afternoon, after coming home from a long journey, she dragged her exhausted body through the doorway, and found that the house was an utter mess.

Ding Yi’s heart skipped a beat, her first reaction was that her enemies had found her!

As she was engulfed by anxiety, she saw a haggard Jiang Mocheng run out from inside the house, his expression dreary and stiff, there was even a hint of fluster in his eyes.

It was obvious that something wasn’t right.

The rough looking Jiang Mocheng was overjoyed to see Ding Yi: “Big sis Ding, you’re back!! Hurry, it seems that there is something wrong with the de… Yueshi!”

Ding Yi panicked.
Having heard that there was something wrong with Mu Yueshi, she rushed inside without even sparing a moment to ask questions.

When she went inside, she saw Mu Yueshi on the ground, his clothing was riddled with sword marks, and his white robes were tainted with blood.
It looks like he had been fighting for his life.

“What happened?” Ding Yi asked as she propped up Mu Yueshi with some difficulty.
She was heartbroken as she asked through gritted teeth: “Who hurt him?”

She had not seen Mu Yueshi injured for many years now, who was the bastard who did this!

Jiang Mocheng hurried forward to help, and sullenly replied: “I don’t know either.
At the time I was at the West Alley buying an ink pad, I saw that there was something wrong when I came back.
The dem… Enemies surrounded Yueshi and I rushed to help, but the assailants escaped after we injured them, and then he became like this.”

He didn’t expect people to attack Mu Yueshi either, and judging by their ferocity, they wanted the demon dead!

After pausing for a bit, Jiang Mocheng reluctantly pursed his lips and added: “They were shadow demons.”

Ding Yi’s body went stiff, and her complexion turned pale.
Her predictions came true, the new Demon Lord wanted Mu Yueshi dead, and had sent assassins.

…The plot was going further and further off the rails!
