The night gradually turned deeper.  

 

While everyone was planning to switch shifts for the night watch and allow the previous shift to go to sleep, a figure silently darted out of the center tent in the camp like a bat in the night before landing at a small path nearby.  Then, it finally exposed itself under the  moonlight.  

 

That person was obviously Shien.  

 

“Really, he really was stubborn.”  

 

Shien wiped off some sweat as if he just exerted a lot of effort.  

 

However, Shien’s expression was completely refreshed like he was quite cheerful and happy.  

 

“He actually managed to hold on for three whole hours.  As expected of a level 77 demon race elite.”  

 

However, this time, Shien had finally crushed the person in question.  

 

“Perhaps I actually unexpectedly like this kind of secret actions.”  

 

No, it seems like it’s not that unexpected.  

 

Since Shien was from the start someone who didn’t like being the center of attention.  Rather, he actually hoped to quietly have a normal life.  Even when there was something that he had to do, he would rather complete it without anyone else noticing and hide his own involvement.  That’s why, rather than public and high profile actions, Shien preferred this kind of secret actions instead.  It made him quite motivated and put him in a good mood.  

 

“It this was in ancient times, this personality of mine would probably make me into an assassin or some other secret member of some underground organization, right?”  

 

For a person like Shien to actually have become the Hero of another world, he really didn’t know if he should laugh at that.  

 

“The next step is to see if things managed to develop like I planned.”  

 

Shien stretched out lazily and muttered to himself.  

 

“Well, I’ve already done what I needed to, so let’s just wait for the harvest at the end.”  

 

With those words, Shien turned about and started moving toward his own tent.  

 

However, when Shien was about halfway there, the sound of harsh breathing and hurried footsteps reached his ears.

Shien just felt a familiar magic power coming towards him, so he stopped for a moment, lifted his head, and looked forward.  

 

The next moment, a figure entered Shien’s view on the path to the camp.  

 

“Melika?”  

 

Shien was somewhat surprised.  

 

The person who appeared here was Melika.  

 

Only, for some reason, Melika was running toward him like she was running for her life.  Her expression was one of someone running away from something in terror, and her beautiful face showed her panic.  

 

“What happened?”  

 

Shien was rather confused.  

 

However, immediately after, Shien felt another source of magic power, making him raise an eyebrow.  

 

“So that’s how it is.”  

 

Shien understood what was going on.  

 

At the same time, Melika also discovered Shien.  

 

“S-Shien?”  

 

Melika immediately stopped, and the panic on her face turned into a dumbfounded expression.  

 

It was like she was a victim who just manged to escape a tiger’s maw, but the immediately ran straight into a pack of wolves.  It was a pitiful and helpless expression.  

 

Shien really did want to ask her just why she’s making that kind of expression.  

 

That girl Melika.  Just what did she think he was?

Shien couldn’t help but roll his eyes.  

 

However, Shien wasn’t slow when it came to action.  

 

“Come here.”  

 

Taking advantage of the fact that Melika still hasn’t managed to properly react, Shien grabbed her hand.  

 

“Eh?  Eh?”  Melika immediately spoke like she’s afraid, “Shien?  What are you doing?”  

 

It looks like Melika misunderstood something.  

 

However, Shien was too lazy to both explaining.  

 

“No time to explain.  Quickly, get in the car…  Cough!  I mean hide!”  

 

As he said that, Shien didn’t give Melika any time to react and just stuffed the adorable elf girl into a nearby patch of tall grass, hiding her from view.  

 

As he hid her, Shien’s imagination was also running wild.  

 

“It this kind of scene appeared in a story, then it would definitely end up with the man and women both hiding together.  The two would be hidden in a tight space while embracing one another closely with a completely pink atmosphere, right?”  

 

Of course, that kind of scene was kind of stupid from the start, and it’d be completely unnecessary at that too.  

 

Just like now.  There was no need whatsoever for Shien to hide.  It was fine so long as Melika was hidden.  

 

Soon, another figure ran over from the path in front.  

 

“Eh?  Why is it you?”  

 

Those surprised words with annoyance mixed in came out of that rich young master’s mouth.  

 

Who else could it be other than Markray?  

 

“Oh, young master.  Tonight’s view is pretty nice.”  Shien instead warmly greeted him as if nothing had happened, “Were you taking a walk too?”

“I’m not nearly so bored.”  Markray spoke impatiently, “That kind of thing doesn’t matter at all.  I’m asking you, did you see Melika?”  

 

That tone wasn’t like he was asking at all.  Rather, it was like he was blatantly ordering.  

 

In response, Shien just narrowed his eyes.  

 

“Melika?  I didn’t see her at all?”  Shien spoke with hidden meaning, “What?  Is the young master looking for Melika?”  

 

“Who else?  You?”  Markray spoke rudely, “I came to ask Melika to practice the incantation for the ‘magic items’ together.  If she hears my accurate and clear chanting, then Melika, as a mage, would definitely be impressed.”  

 

Impressed?  

 

If Melika knew of the so called incantation’s true meanings, then when she hears your accurate and clear chanting, she would probably laugh herself to suffocation and become the first elf in history to laugh herself to death.  

 

Of course, that’s a secret.  It can’t be randomly leaked out.  

 

However…  

 

“Whether or not Melika would be impressed by the young master is something I don’t know about, but I for one am impressed.”  Shien spoke with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, “For you to dare to keep pestering Melika even after you’ve already been taught a lesson.  I have to say, young master, you’ve got quite the guts.”  

 

“Ugh…”  Markray instantly started shaking, but he did still rebutted, “I…  I was only here to invite Melika.  It’s not like I’ll do anything to her, so even Diere couldn’t be as unreasonable as to attack me just because of that, right?”  

 

“Is that so?”  Shien spoke like he didn’t care at all, “Then why was it that you looked like you were chasing something just now?”  

 

“T-That’s because Melika ran away without a word the moment she saw me!  So of course I would chase after her!”  Markray spoke angrily, “It’s rare that Diere left for her own training.  Vivian and that guy Alrith were also discussing something.  Lumia’s asleep too.  Since only Melika was outside the tents doing keeping watch, how could I possibly pass over this opportunity?”  

 

I say young master.  Those words of yours is completely that of a playboy with evil motives, right?  

 

Shien started considering whether or not he should just bury this guy right here.  

 

However, Shien knew as well that while they were in this camp, there was no way that Markray could have actually done anything to Melika.  Otherwise, he would have died a terrible death.  

 

However, that attitude like that of a bad boy trying to pester a good girl.  It really makes one not want to let him off.  

 

How about just copying the common plot and just beat some shame into him here?

“Ah, there’s Melika.”  

 

Shien suddenly pointed forward and let out a surprised voice.  

 

“Melika?  Where!?”  

 

Markray’s eyes flashed and quickly turned around to look in the direction that Shien was pointing.  

 

At that same moment, Shien moved.  

 

“Bang!”  

 

With the sound of a dull impact, Shien slammed a knight hand viciously into the back of Markray’s neck.  

 

“Gack!”  

 

Markray made a strange sound and fell down onto the ground.  His feet twitched a few times before he stopped moving.  

 

Shien maintained his pose with the knife hand.  He looked at Markray on the ground and had an epiphany.  

 

“This seems to be a common cliché too, right?”  

 

Well, whatever.  So long as the goal is reached, it’s all good.  

 

“Anyways, let’s bury him first.”  

 

Shien grabbed Markray by the feet and started dragging him toward the forest.  

 

“W-wait!  Don’t be so reckless!”  

 

Melika who personally witnessed everything finally couldn’t keep on hiding and charged out.
