The Only Necromancer

In 2017 when a portal appeared in the sky, everyone thought it was something projected by humans. The portal has been there for 1 month. This portal appears in various countries ranging from Korea, China, America, France, Spain, Japan, Taiwan, and several other countries. But not long after that the portal changed color to purple and a little red. The color of the sky changed slightly, people started to get scared. An incredible roar resounded throughout the world, I saw it with my own eyes. It was when I was walking home, not long after the sound appeared, suddenly the ground shook very loudly like an earthquake was going to happen.

But suddenly there are many monsters that come out of the portal. I can interpret what Im seeing right now. I saw a dragon coming out of the portal, not only that I also saw other monsters. They all suddenly came out of the portal. Everyone screamed and ran to save themselves. But I couldn move my legs one bit. The monsters started to eat the people running around, I was so scared and thought it was the end.

But not long after that, there were some humans who got strange powers. When the monster tried to approach me, there was a man who ran towards the monster and killed it. The man looks stronger than the other humans and I don know why that is. But not long after that another portal appeared on earth, and another monster appeared. Ive seen it once those monsters look like goblins, they
e really scary and theres a lot of them.

I don know what happened but my vision suddenly faded. Before that happened I had seen a creature like a human coming out of the portal. I started to lose consciousness and I heard a lot of people screaming, but I don care anymore and I started to lose consciousness. I don know what happened but right now Im in the dark, I tried to scream but it seems like Im the only one here alone.

When I was trying to find a way out, suddenly a skeleton appeared in front of me. I got startled and started walking backwards, when I tried to run for some reason I felt I didn move away from the skeleton. The skeleton came up to me and I screamed for it to get away, but when it touched me it didn seem like he was trying to hurt me. Finally I decided to follow where the skeleton wanted to take me. After that I began to see light, whereas before this place was only filled with darkness. When I walked towards the light I was unexpectedly in another world.

Im not sure what Im seeing, but it doesn look like earth. It felt like the old kingdom era. As I was walking out there was a man in a black robe approaching me.

”Looks like you
e the chosen one ”

”W-Who are you? ” I was so scared, I didn know anyone in this place and he seemed to be approaching me.

”Follow me ”

I was hesitant at first, but I had no choice so I just followed him.

We walked quite a distance, and it seemed we were walking toward the forest. I don know but I feel this place is getting weirder, not long after that I see in front there is a small castle in the middle of the forest. This place is filled with a dark aura and I don see a single human around here. After that he took me in, I saw for myself that the person who opened the door was a skeleton. I don know what place this is but I don think its a place where humans live.

He took me into the palace, suddenly I felt like I was suffocating. A very strong aura was felt from within the palace door, before I almost lost consciousness the man in the black robe gave me some kind of magic power and I could breathe again.

”We will meet the king of darkness ”

”Why do we have to meet him? ”

The black robed person did not answer me, as soon as the door was opened and I met the king. The king was wearing black armor and I could see green flames covering the armor. There were a lot of guards around but I realized that all the guards weren human either.

He told us to come closer, having been close enough in the presence of the king. I knelt down like the black robed person.

”I am the king of darkness, the necromancer ”

I played a lot of rpg games before so of course I know a necromancer is the one who raises death.

”Whats your name? ” he asked me with a threatening aura, and he looked very serious.

”My name is…. Lee Won Myung ”

”From now on you will be the master of darkness ”

I was speechless, I who was a coward was asked to become the ruler of darkness. I was asked to walk towards the king of darkness. He pointed his hand at me. Suddenly my body ached as if I was being stabbed. I screamed really loud and I thought that I was going to die. After that, my vision went black and I woke up.

Thats what happened just a moment ago, Im currently in the hospital. Someone opened the door to my room, the woman looked at me in surprise.

”Doctor, this patient has regained consciousness. ”

After that, the doctor came and I was asked some questions, such as whether I feel pain in the head or stomach. I didn know what was going on and I asked them.

”How long have I been here? ”

”You are the only patient who has been unconscious for 3 years ”

”Whaaat… 3 years???? ”

Im so confused right now, I feel that I was only dreaming for a while and the last thing before I lose consciousness is when the earth is about to be destroyed by the portal monsters attack.

After that, they explained that I was brought here by some people after the portals closed. I understand most of it, and it looks like all the humans managed to fight all the monsters. I was given a cellphone by the hospital so I used it. I was asked to download the Hunter app. He said this application has a lot of information about portals, monsters, and also hunters.

After reading that I understand now when the earth was almost destroyed by the attacks of those monsters, there were many humans who were bestowed with powers. Those who get the power will be given a class. There are now 4 main classes determined by the Hunter Association. There are Guardians, Rangers, Magicians, and Thieves. At least 40% of the human population are hunters. They also rank the classes obtained by all the hunters. Rank S is the highest and Rank F is the lowest, but it is said here that whoever gets Rank F is actually an ordinary human.

It is written here that every country is now establishing a hunter association to keep the country safe from attacks by portal monsters. Everyone must get a hunter license from the hunter association to become a hunter, and the test is carried out at the hunter association office. Currently, Korea has 2 S-Rank Hunters. This is not a large number considering that Japan has 6, China has 11, and even America has 17 S-Rank Hunters. Most other countries had at least 1 or 2 S-Rank Hunters. S-Rank Hunters can also be categorized as the strongest, they can fight B-Rank portal monsters with their own strength. Normally, a B-Rank portal requires 10 or more B-Rank hunters. These Hunter guilds have the same power as hunter associations, therefore sometimes the government is afraid of losing control of the government.
