Mami-san, the maid, calls me.
This person came to the Runwalker March the year before the last.
It seems she had been a maid at another territory originally, but apparently, that place went to ruins and she came here.

“Just now, the Feudal Lord-sama was looking for Chrona.
Still, Chrona sure is wholehearted huh.
It has already been 4 years since that Lei-sama whom Chrona likes came back, right? Although Marco-sama and Vont-sama occasionally come back.
He’s even gotten girlfriends over there”

Indeed, he is engaged with Alexia-sama and Ferris-sama so she is not exactly incorrect.

“Nevertheless, I will just do my best for Lei-sama’s sake.

Feudal Lord-sama was saying that he wants you to come to the Feudal Lord-sama’s office”

Indeed, there were numerous times when I feel uneasy that he did not return to the territory in this period of 4 years.
I am unlike the others, I am merely a maid.
Hence, there are times that I wonder if I have been forgotten before I know it.

However, when I see Lei-sama’s letters that he occasionally sends over, he makes sure to send my share as well, and when I see the words ‘I love you’ that are written, there are times that I want to scream from the overwhelming happiness.

I arrived at Sieg-sama’s office as I thought about such things.
I tense up my grinning face and speak to Otou-sama, who was standing in front of the door.
Otou-sama’s subordinate is also there beside him.

I came summoned by Sieg-sama”

Otou-sama says that and the subordinate-san bows.
Otou-sama has been summoned as well huh.

I follow Otou-sama even as I am thinking of that.
When we enter the room, inside was Sieg-sama; Eris-sama; Filia-sama; along with Krissha-sama, who is carried by Eris-sama.
Alene-sama and Okaa-sama were there as well.

“Ooh, you guys are here, Gilbert, Chrona.
Both of you, take a seat”

Urged by Sieg-sama, we took a seat as well.
It is rare for everybody to gather huh.
On top of that, I wonder why is it that I am being looked at with somewhat warm eyes by Sieg-sama and the others.

“It’s because letters from Lei came that I gathered everybody”

In that instant, my ears and tail went ‘Pinn!’ and stood straight up.
I mean, it is a letter from Lei-sama, you know! Even if I do not have a share, I am happy just being able to listen to Lei-sama’s stories!

Maybe it is because my behaviour was amusing, Eris-sama is giggling at me.

“Also, it seems it’s a done deal for Aerith and Miss Helen as well.
Alene, I’ll leave the end of the year to you as planned.
I’ll send a letter to King Nanor”

“I got it.
I’ll do what I can to help for my daughter and son-in-law’s sakes”

Alene-sama who says and laughs.
As I thought, Aerith-sama and the others also became his fiancees huh.
I am glad!

“And lastly, Chrona.
There’s a letter from Lei for you as well”

Sieg-sama who says and holds a letter out at me.
A, a letter for me as well, is it.
However, I am bothered by the fact that Sieg-sama and the others are looking at me endearingly.
I wonder what is it.

“Chrona! Hurry up and open it!”

Thereupon, Filia-sama hurries me.
I want to hurry up and see it as well so I open it.
A letter and a box made of wood came out from inside when I did.
For the time being, I shall look at the letter.

To Chrona

I sent the letter this time around because there are things I want to convey and give to Chrona.
So I’ll keep it short.

Firstly, open the wooden box that’s amongst what was sent.
It’s slightly embarassing to write it here, but there’s a ring inside.
It’s an engagement ring.

I suppose there are various things that worry you as well while you’re doing your best alone in the territory.
I am really sorry.
I suppose I ought to say such words directly, but I thought to write it in this letter and tell you when we meet once again.

I love you, Chrona.
I want you to walk the life hereafter along with me.

It’s embarassing to go further so I’ll end this time’s letter here.

I silently open the wooden box that was together inside.
A ring that is affixed with a gemstone that shines blue was there.

“Waa~! It is beautiful! And what did the letter write……Chrona?”

I raise my face because Filia-sama asks me and Filia-sama looks at me with a worried-looking face.

“What is the matter, Chrona? You are crying.
Did something happen?”

I wiped my eyes as I was told that and my hands got wet.
It appears that I was crying before I know it.

“No, I was too overwhelmingly happy, gusuu, I am weeping for joy”

When I say and hand the letter over to Filia-sama, Filia-sama reads the letter out loud.
Thereupon, everybody around raises their voices going, ‘Kyaー!’

“Geez, our son, he sure is like Sieg! Hey, Chrona, try wearing the ring”

Urged by Eris-sama, I wear the ring on my left ring finger.
I put ‘If you receive a ring, wear it on your ring finger’, that I was told by Okaa-sama, into practice.

It was slightly too big, however, when I tried wearing it, it changed into a perfect size! I am surprised by this.
An engagement ring from Lei-sama.

I break into a grin just looking at it.

Indeed, there were times that I was slightly worried, but I am going to do my best for Lei-sama’s sake from now on as well! I cannot wait for the day we can meet!
