After leaving the bar the priest went to the front desk to get the cheapest single room he could haggle for. While in his room sitting on his bed, next to the magic fireplace, he started to reflect on an event he just saw just a couple of hours ago and wondered to himself if what happened could have gone differently. He gave that thought about three second then tossed it away like tossing away toilet paper. Meh, he said to himself I can always form a new team, not like it is hard to find warriors or rangers, they
e a dime a dozen. Not like I was close to them anyway and besides not like its my fault I was under a debuff effect… Ya thats it…. Also, we just met a few hours prior to interning in the ”dungeon ”. Meh, whatever time to inspect the weird book. As he took out the weird looking book, his attention was eminently placed on the cover pictures eyes. It made him feel like as he was inspecting the book, the book was in turn also inspecting him. He shook his head and started inspecting the cover title which read The Unforgiven Saytr in fancy golden red lettering. It showed a picture of a big head of a goat coming out of a clear lake with two big trees behind it. The picture of the goat head has four teal red colored eyes, two in which were covered over with a black blind fold and two huge straight/curved horns coming out from the sides of its head. Its head was also adorned with a crown made of foggy horns, its crown was accompanied with a smile that had a black unknown substance oozing out from it. Its fur color was white with black tips with a silver glow outline. While the back of the book was solid black with silver letters that were written in a language he didn recognize (written in English). As he kept studying the letters something strange started to happen, the letters began to change into words he could read. They spelled a grave warning, all who hold this book be warned that as long as you have this book in your possession the dead will never rest to find you. The living will never stop hunting you. The living gods will abandon you, to never hear your prayers again. If the way of the dead is not for you, burn this book and never speak of it again, especially in a graveyard. But if you find this acceptable and desire power of the damned then turn the page and surrender your soul. To a normal priest the power of the damned was something to be hated, to be destroyed, but never feared. The generic adventure new this truth for in the church he was taught at one time in history the undead wiped-out whole empires with hundreds of years of history behind them. While having an internal mental struggle about whether to open the book or not. The book started to glow, which drew the attention of the undead rat that was watching him through the opened window. The rat started approaching the man as if under a spell, getting close, even closer… so close he was about to touch him, when the man suddenly dropped the book in freight upon seeing the poor rat. This action caused the light to return to the rat, he immediately began activating his skills [hundreds of eyes] [lesser flame skin] [ Lesser Intimidation] [Lesser poison cloud] etc. The priest, realizing hes in deep shit, pops his defensive skills [Intermediate Holy shield] [Intermediate Fear Ward] only to his shock that his skills failed to activate! Just right before the rat was about to feast on the now defenseless priest, the book popped a blinding light that blinded the man and brought a sharp pain to the rats mind. When the priest came to the first thing, he noticed that the rat was unconscious. Reflectively he immediately thought of casting [Intermediate Holy Flame] but when he tried to activate it, to his horror it wouldn work. Confused, he looked around to find the book opened. He turned pale when he remembered the warning the book gave him. ”The living gods will abandon you ”! As a priest losing your connection to the gods is equivalent to being one of the lost. Panicking to this revelation, He grabs the book and throws it into the fireplace in hope to undo what has transpired. When the book touched the fire, it erupted into a blazing silvery white flame. The flame however did not burn the book, instead it formed what could be described as a pedestal. In the middle of this pedestal stood the book. The fierce face of the goat just staring right into the priest. As he stared back into those fiery teal red eyes, he began to feel lightheaded, and little by little he began to lose consciousness.
