ooked at Ciel and she was looking around.

Was there something going on?

I joined her in looking around, but I couldn’t notice anything.

I wondered if Ciel and I were seeing things differently.

“Ciel, what’s wrong?”

When I called out to her, she moved quickly and moved a little deeper into the forest.

I looked at Ciel and wondered what happened.

“Fuu, shhh!”

“Whoa!”

Ciel suddenly raised a threatening screech, causing me to utter a small shriek.

The next moment, I heard rustling noises and saw rabbits and field mice running around in a panic.

“Eh? What?”

The rabbits and field mice ran around for a little while, and after some time they went into hiding somewhere.

There were so many of them around here.

Hmm?

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a trap.

As I approached, I saw two hares in the trap.

Could this be it?

I look at all the traps again.

Eight out of ten traps have a hare and a field mouse.

“I see… hunting by the fear?”

I looked at Ciel and she looked proud.

I didn’t realize that one intimidation could have such an effect.

That showed how much of a threat the Adandara was to small animals.

I was in a state of confusion.

Huh?

Could it be that the reason why they didn’t move after I set the traps was because they sensed Ciel’s presence?

Well, that’s possible, right?

Maybe they felt a scary presence and didn’t move to see what was going on.

I looked at Ciel.

Her tail was wagging happily when she saw the trapped hare.
