I guess I shouldn’t say anything about this.

But what should I do from now on?

Hmmm…I guess I should change to setting a trap and seeing how it goes for a couple of days.

If that didn’t work… I’ll think about it when that happens.

For now, I have to dismantle it.

“Ciel, thank you.
I’ll do my best to dismantle it!”

“Nyan~”

“Pu~pupu~”

Well, it seemed like the number of problems was increasing.

Well, I’ll manage.

But I didn’t want to have to go hunting every time I went out.

We head to the riverside with my traps.

At the riverside, I immediately started preparing to dismantle the meat.

A knife and a bana leaf to wrap the meat around.

“Alright, I’ll do my best…Ciel and Sora, you take your time.”

Ciel was lying in the shade of a tree, Sora lunging at her belly area.

The same relationship as ever.

The dismantling of the rabbits and field mice didn’t take too long to finish, as I have done it quite a few times.

I wiped the blood clean and wrapped them one by one with a bana leaf.

The knife was cleaned and wiped with a cloth to complete the process.

Now, we should move on before the smell of blood brings monsters and animals here.

Well, I have a feeling that since Ciel was here, there would be no need to fear such attacks.

“Sorry to keep you waiting, Ciel.
I’ve finished dismantling, I’m going back to the town.”

“Nyan~”

Sora was sound asleep.

I gently picked Sora up, but she didn’t seem to wake up.

I wondered if she was okay.

I was a little worried, but I was sure she was at ease because Ciel was around.

I put Sora gently in my bag and put it on my shoulder.

“Thank you, Ciel.
Today…”

I didn’t know what was going on in town.

I’d hate to make a promise and not be there.

“I’ll come back to see you tomorrow.”

“Nyan.”

When I gently pet her head, she squinted her eyes and gave me a pleasant expression.

This expression was so adorable.

“Well, I’m off.”

Today, too, she walked with me all the way to the town.

She really was a sweet girl, I think.

I wondered what the town would be like.

I’m a little worried.

Doubts

“Good evening.”

I called out to the gatekeeper, who was different from the morning, and as I entered the town, I immediately noticed something odd.

There were few people on the town’s main street, which had been bustling with activity during the day.

Looking around, I could see shopkeepers gathered around, whispering to each other.

Feeling a little uneasy, I headed toward the butcher shop I had heard about.

“Excuse me.”

“Nn? Kid, what’s wrong?”

The owner of the butcher store looked a little tired, but he smiled at me.

“I’d like to sell you the meat of wild rabbits and field mice, is that all right?”

“Oh, no problem.
Thanks for the offer.”

I entered the store and placed the meat wrapped in Bana Leaves on the table in front of the owner.

For sale were six wild rabbits and four field mice.

Two of the wild rabbits were left behind, to be used for dinner.

“Whoa! You did a pretty good job of dismantling them.
This way there will be no waste, which is a big help.”

I was confident in my dismantling skills.

So I couldn’t help but smile at the pleasant words.

“Thank you very much.”
