The world of a goddess could only be looked at from afar and never defiled.

Within the world of playful high-schoolers aside from studying, she did nothing else and nothing more.

At that moment, the goddess in everyone’s eyes had just reached home.

SLAP!

Just as she pushed the door open, a slap landed on her cheek and a red palm mark appeared on her fair skin.

Mo Ning did not seem to feel anything as her peachy eyes looked up and looked at the gloomy lady sitting in a wheelchair.

Mo Shan.

“Mother.” She called out to her as a greeting.

“Why are you back so late?”

Mo Shan’s eyes were cold and the past eighteen years had not been kind to her.
Her hatred and pain of immobility had totally turned her into a bitter, pallid looking middle-aged woman.

The wrinkle around her eyes were deep and while her face had changed, her hatred burned ever brighter.

“Don’t you know I’m not mobile? Why did I raise a heartless mutt like you?!”

Mo Ning did not retort and simply pushed the wheelchair into the bedroom.
She said with a lowered gaze.
“Sorry, I went to school.”

Mo Shan sneered as Mo Ning carried her onto the bed and placed the blanket over here.
Only then she spoke.
“Don’t go out anymore, once I’ve made some preparations, we’ll go back to Z Country.”

Go back?

Mo Ning was taken aback and asked out of reflex.
“Mother, you’ve been to Z Country before?”

She probably had or else she would not have said that.
Or to insist on her going to Z Country for university and had prepared her to learn the language of the country.

BAM…

Without any warning, Mo Shan took the ashtray by the edge of the headboard and brutally hit Mo Ning with it.

Seeing that she did not dodge and simply took the hit, the anger in her heart receded somewhat yet her expression was cold.

“Shut your mouth and don’t show how smart you are to me.
Do as what I say!”

“I understand.” Mo Ning said as she endured the pain of her bruised abdomen.

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly recalled something and asked reverently, like an employee speaking to her boss.
“My classmates had invited me to join a graduation gathering the day after, can I go?”

“NO!” Mo Shan rejected without even so much as a thought.

Normally, Mo Ning would just listen obediently.

“But…it’s my birthday the day after.”

She knew that Mo Shan would not allow her to celebrate her birthday, perhaps she had even forgotten when her birthday was.

But every one of her classmates remembered and had decided to hold a birthday party for her in view that they will be going their separate ways after graduation.

Her heart was not made out of stone after all, how would she not be touched?

“No means no!”

“Mother…”

An unexpected pleading look appeared on Mo Ning’s face and while her peachy eyes had dimmed somewhat, there was still a natural allure to it.

Mo Shan’s gaze wavered a little as another pair of eyes appeared in her mind.
Equally alluring, equally enchanting.

And the hatred in her heart blazed as Mo Shan’s expression turned menacing for a moment.

But she soon calmed down as pretentious love covered the hatred in her eyes and her voice mellowed.

“Alright, Ningning, go and have fun then.
I was in a bad mood earlier, pay me no mind.”

An excited glow flickered in Mo Ning’s eyes and even her tone was slightly exuberant.

“Thank you!”
