Once Jiang Yuyan went through the files, she asked, “How is he?”

Noah knew who she was referring to and answered honestly, “Not so good.”

“You have to take care of him from now on even more.
I believe I can trust you,” Jiang Yuyan said as she put the file aside.

Noah had so much to say to her but it was not his place as he was in front of president Lu.
Moreover, he was sure Lu Lijun would never like it if he had said something to Jiang Yuyan.

“I will,” he could only assure her.

“Thank you,” she said and Noah left.

Noah returned to his office and sat in his chair sighing deeply over the worry he had for his friend.
He didn’t know what to do.

He looked at his cellphone as he wished to call their other friend, “Damn this Jake.
When would he be back? I alone can’t do this.”

After too much hesitation he dialled Jake’s number while trying to remind himself of a reason, “It’s for the sake of Lijun.” But no one received the call.

“He doesn’t even want to talk to me now.
Not like I am dying to talk to him, but for the sake of Lijun I need to,” Noah dialled his number again and it got received this time.

“Hello,” the woman’s voice came through.

Noah looked at his wristwatch, ‘it’s late night there.
Why did a woman answered his call? But is he even in England or somewhere else?’

“Hello!” the woman said again upon not getting an answer.

Before Noah could say a word, he heard Jake’s distant voice.  “Who is it Jane?”

“Unknown number,” she answered.

Noah heard it, ‘Unknown number? Did he delete my number?’ he concluded and hung up the call even before Jake could answer it.
‘That bastard.
Still the same,’ Noah felt like throwing his cellphone away.

Lu Lijun came out of the bathroom and wore the clothes kept on the bed by Lu Feng.
He lay in the bed and rested for a while.
After he had one long nap, Lu Feng came into the room, “Come.
I cooked lunch for us.”

Lu Lijun looked at his brother as if he had heard something wrong.
“Did you cook?”

“Do you doubt?” Lu Feng answered and turned to leave, “Hurry up.
It will get cold.”

Lu Lijun stood up and followed his brother.
Though he felt weak, he was curious to see what his brother had cooked.

The moment Lu Lijun went to the dining table, he could not believe his brother had actually cooked something and everything looked so delicious.
At An Tian’s place, he had seen his brother cooking but he didn’t know his busy brother will take so much effort alone.

“Don’t be so surprised.
You should know your elder brother is the best in everything.
You are lucky to have one extraordinary elder brother,” Lu Feng said casually as he pulled out the chair for Lu Lijun and signaled him to sit.

“I am not surprised,” Lu Lijun mumbled.

“You should not be.
As I told you, I am best in everything I do,” Lu Feng added as he sat in the chair opposite to him.

“I mean, I am not surprised how this narcissism runs in my blood.
I know how it came to me,” Lu Lijun clarified.

“It’s good that you accepted it.
Nothing bad in being a Narcissist.
Just be proud of yourself,” Lu Feng served the food in Lu Lijun’s dish.

“You were not like this, brother.
I wonder if the weather in S city has changed you,” Lu Lijun offered him a teasing smile.

Lu Feng smiled back, “Well, you can say the weather in S city brought the hidden things out.”

“No wonder you love that city more now,” Lu Lijun added.

Lu Feng offered him a questioning look, “Should I not?”

“When did I say no? I am in fact happy that the weather there has changed you a lot and made you a happy person.”

“What about you?” Lu Feng asked.

Lu Lijun lowered his head to eat the soup, “What about me?”

“What do you plan to do now?” Lu Feng enquired.

“Nothing,” he replied.

“You gave up?” Lu Feng asked.

“I can never give up as long as I am alive,” Lu Lijun replied.

“That’s what you were trying to kill yourself, huh?” Came the displeased words from an elder brother.

“I was not.
I need to be alive for her.
It’s sad that I can’t drink like others and get lost in my world being drunk.
How unfortunate that there is no way I can forget everything even for a moment,” Lu Lijun looked sad.

Lu Feng knew it was really sad that his brother had no way to vent out his frustration and he would never cry to let it out.
“I understand.
Just give it some time.”

Lu Lijun nodded, “I have no other choice.”

“What happened that day at the party?” Lu Feng asked.

“Something that should not have,” Lu Lijun replied.
“I guess it only pushed her away from me,” Lu Lijun felt choked with food, “I don’t know what I should do now.”

Lu Feng passed him a glass of water, “Have it.”

Lu Lijun had a few sips and heard his brother, “Stay here as long as you want.
The security password is Lu Qiang’s birth date.

Lu Lijun could only nod and informed.
“I will go to the office tomorrow.”

“You are not well.”

“I need to.
I have not seen her since then,” he countered.

Lu Feng could not stop him as if he was in Lu Lijun’s place, he would have done the same, “I will arrange a car and driver for you.
You are not allowed to drive, got it?”

Lu Lijun nodded.
